Carlyn Hacker, MS, LISAC

Founder of Real Life Therapy Services Specializing in Substance Abuse Counseling and DUI Services

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, and a daughter of a homemaker and a Steelworker, Carlyn Hacker obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology from St. Vincent College as a Student Athlete (Women’s’ Basketball). While working the graveyard shift at a local restaurant, Ms. Hacker followed up with a Master’s of Science from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. It is because of her background that she has learned the importance of respect, values, determination, and humility that should be attributed to every individual seeking services at Real Life Therapy Services.

Ms. Hacker is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) and a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor III by the National Forensic Institute of Science.

Ms. Hacker has provided counseling services for over 30 years to youth, adults, and families dealing with a wide range of issues from abuse, parenting, defiance, substance abuse, domestic violence, anger management, and other life stressors.

Throughout that time, she has coordinated with many community organizations including clinics, courts, probation departments, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), law offices, and schools within urban and rural communities to ensure the best possible care for the members' served. She also has years of experience working in the Public Behavioral Health system as a counselor and manager understanding the rules and regulations established by Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and ADOT MVD.
